Jeanne Plays Title Role in George Bernard Shaw’s MRS. WARREN’S PROFESSION in the Antaeus Company CLASSICS FEST 2012, Directed by Cameron Watson

The Antaeus Company LogoThe Antaeus Company is a member-driven, classical theater company that is devoted to keeping classical theater alive and kicking in Los Angeles, and as a member, one can initiate and cast readings of plays to be considered for future development. So I decided to organize a reading of one of my favorites, George Bernard Shaw’s MRS. WARREN’S PROFESSION, and to take a crack at playing Kitty Warren herself. Our initial table read was then chosen for the summer Classics Fest, so it’s been great this weekend to take it to the next level in front of an audience. Thanks to Linda Park, Phil Proctor, Ramon de Ocampo, Peter Van Norden, and Josh Clark for coming on board, and special thanks to Cameron Watson for directing—Cameron also directed the acclaimed, multiracially cast ALL MY SONS at the Matrix last year that I was so excited to see.

And how does one reward oneself for tackling such a demanding role? With a quart of Haagen-Daaz ice cream of course! I didn’t even bother to change out of my costume!
